Today I’ll talk about early design development of Houses of Knowledge.

Image below are the initial game elements I got from Thibaut.

Game Design wise it was already nearly on its final stage, so I didn’t need to worry about massive changes on elements I need to work on.

Obviously and most importantly, both of us wanted [Clear visual communication] by art for the game but there were a bit more individual desire from each of us.

-Thibaut wanted it to look 'Art Deco style' with lighter color theme.

-I wanted to make it visually nice, as if it was a nice cute biscuit box,

and you want to put it on your shelf . ( I mean this 'shelf' means regular shelf in casual players' home, not the 'the board game shelf' of gamers ..! :p ).

So on one day, I went for a coffee and did initial sketches.

Then also, gathered reference color theme and did rough mock-ups for the cards

To be continued, next is about actual design phase !
